Loathe:
- Having nothing to say! I never Vox anymore, and I barely write in my real journal either. I don't know where my creativity's got to, but I'm not particularly pleased with it.
- This heat. Today was 33 C with a humidex of 38, and humidity was about 600%. Not only is it stifling and miserable to breathe in, it wreaks havoc with my hair. How am I supposed to be vain if I look like crap?!
- My best friend is working 12 hour days, 6 days a week for the next three weeks.
- How hard it is to coordinate three different work schedules so a couple friends and I can go see Wall-E.
- My birthday is in a couple of days. I don't like birthdays. I'm not sure why.
Love:
- My best friend is home!!!
- The boy I like (who likes me back, but he doesn't know how I feel because I'm acting like a stupid teenage girl) called me pretty twice in two days. I am annoyed that this makes me happy.
- I babysat today, and the kid and I had a water fight with the hose. It was very refreshing.
- There was some confusion about which university I technically attend. The small, 1100 student one, or the big, 13 000 student one. The small one is kind of a part of the big one. Happily, even though almost all my classes are at the big one, I still attend the small one! Yay!
- My imminent birthday means I survived another year! I even learned some things.
- FANS. It turns out that they make even the hottest days a little more bearable.
Share a song you listened to in 6th grade.
I didn't listen to much music at that age. But this song was realllly popular at the time!
This is my first time doing it.
Unfortunate:
- I was supposed to go to the beach with the boy who was my best friend last summer, but he canceled.
- TEXTBOOKS! They are expensive, and the university has hardly listed any of the course requirements online yet, presumably so I have to buy them from their bookstore, and not online or secondhand.
- I'm going to have to get another job. The one I have plus babysitting? Not enough. Plus I'm just really bored, since my shifts seem to come in a feast-or-famine sort of way.
- We're renovating the bathroom, and my parents fight multiple times a day.
- I have sweatshirts I need to alter today! I like sewing. It relaxes me.
- I'm home alone. No family arguments!
- I had a good conversation about God with one of my friends last night, and it has given me a lot to think about.
- It's sunny and warm, but not ridiculously hot.
- I woke up this morning with a large ball of cat on my legs. He never sleeps with me, it was cute.
Look at the first post you ever wrote on Vox. What important developments or changes have occurred in your life since then?

My first post. Well, I'm vaguely ashamed that that's my first post.
I think I've grown up a little since then. The boy I was writing about was my best friend, and we had... stronger feelings than that for each other. But then he decided he'd rather date someone else. We're not really very good friends anymore.
Outside of that, well... I survived my first year of university! I learned some things. And I've become a little more careful with my heart.
Show us your gorgeous eyes.

Ooh, OKAY. I will be shamelessly vain, and announce that my eyes are my favourite physical feature. They look pretty gray in this picture, but they're generally kind of greenish bluish gray. I like them best when they look green.
The kid I babysit took this picture, by the way.
So, I thought I'd un-neglect my vox now that I'm done school and everything. And post about t-shirts.
Guys, I have a confession to make. I'm a t-shirt whore. I have two drawers full of them. A lot come from thrift stores, which is even more fun, because it means no one else has them. And I wear all of them. It's not even like I buy them and ignore them.
So here are some of my favourites. Please ignore my hair in these pictures. It was freshly blow-dried, and still half wet.
The second, absurdly, has a garden gnome. Again, thrift store find.
The third has the fish from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish! Thrift store.
The fourth has a pattern of farms on the light coloured stripes. Thrift store.
The fifth is self explanatory. It's from Bluenotes.
The sixth has Snoopy and Woodstock, but Woodstock is hidden beneath my hair. The music on the shirt looks faded because it's printed on the inside of the shirt. Strange, but it looks nice. Thrift store.
I'm not sure which version of the Paul Frank monkey appears on the seventh. Perhaps the used car salesman version? He's a little sketchy looking. Thrift store.
The eighth is one of my favourites. It has robots. It's the subject of all sorts of jokes between my close friends and I. Bluenotes (though I believe it was called Thrifty's when I got this one).
If you got this far, congratulations and thanks for reading.
So! My little HP tablet PC (which I just got in August, I'd like to point out) broke. First the wireless card and the motherboard had a little disagreement. I don't really understand, but apparently it's a flaw in the model, and all of them have it. Repair time is two weeks, minimum. That began around the beginning of March. Having no wireless sucks, but I dealt with it, because I really couldn't be without my laptop for that long, especially not with imminent exams.
But the day before yesterday, when I turned on the computer, all the LED lights came on, but the screen wouldn't display. So I took notes by hand, and when I got home, my dad followed the instructions on the HP website that eventually led him to conclude that it was a hardware problem. Repair time? Two weeks to a month. Ack!
So because I obviously have the sweetest father in the world, he said he'd buy me a new computer. And instead of a PC, here I am on a Macbook. That's what he wanted me to have, so I'm giving it a chance. I'm not completely sold yet though. So here's what's going to happen: when the PC gets repaired, I get to choose which computer I want to keep, and my sister gets the other one. So I'm making some lists. Can you guys help me out?
Mac Pros, PC Cons:
- The wireless reception is MUCH better on the Mac, which is practical, as I am a student at a university with frequently unreliable wireless internet.
- The battery life is also very efficient. This is also convenient; even in battery-efficient mode, my PC is a battery -suck.
- On the Mac, I don't have to use Windows Vista!!! This is a big plus.
- I have to admit, the Mac is very functional.
- The keyboard shortcuts are different. I'm addicted to alt+tab on PCs, and having to switch between alt+tab and alt+~ on the Mac annoys me. And having to use ctrl+ for some things and command+ for others exasperates me.
- Small as it may be, the Macbook is actually bigger and heavier than my PC. Not much, but enough that I notice.
- I don't like the Mac version of word. I'm not sure why, it just annoys me. Probably because I've been primarily on a PC for my entire life.
- MSN for Macs is annoying to use. Its alerts are easy to miss, and it badly distorts display pictures, among other things.
I'm still here! I still read lots of your things. I just haven't had time to write or comment in ages, I'm so busy with school and work and whatnot. But I'm still alive, and doing my best to keep up with all your lives, I promise. Just wanted to let you know.
Show us a picture of you when you were a baby.
